Growing up in the Washington, D.C. area, in a family of creatives, I visited the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian art galleries and the Torpedo Factory artists' studios with my Aunt Bonnie and my mother from a young age. I fell in love with art walking the halls of those galleries. I fell in love with creating while watching my Aunt Bonnie turn everything she touched into art.
I am mostly a self-taught artist, but I did take some classes with the Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Art League. I am also a clarinetist and public school music teacher/band director. I have my Masters in Music Performance and Arts Education from Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD.
My love for animals led me to the very reddwarding world of Pet Portraits. My first pet portrait was of Cisco, a very special friend.
I am grateful to all the people who have trusted me to paint portraits of their furry family members. Universally, these tributes to our pets bring smiles to our faces and evoke fond memories of our special family members.
My home studio is in Arlington, VA, just outside of Washington DC.
